These are some of the main items which can be covered under PAX Kit & Home Contents Insurance.

Optional additional cover
March Out / Out Muster
Charges which you are liable for due to loss or damage to contents fixtures and fittings of any MoD arranged accommodation for up to £10,000. Effective 90 days after start date.

Personal Possessions
Covers you and members of your family living with you for loss or damage occurring anywhere in the world. Also covers household goods and domestic equipment, providing you normally live in a barrack block or similar shared Service accommodation. (All applicants must select this section)

These items can all be insured for accidental loss or damage anywhere in the world at an additional cost. Just contact your insurance agent or PAX Insurance and let them know your requirements.

* Valuables are defined as jewellery, watches, clocks, cameras, camcorders, pictures, works of art, collections and articles made of precious metals or stone
* Unless you have selected and paid for worldwide cover, the policy will only cover removals within the United Kingdom

Home Contents

To cover the contents of your home such as:
furniture, furnishings, domestic appliances and electrical goods for accidental damage and loss or damage by specific causes such as: fire, theft, flood and burst pipes.

Kit & Home Contents policy excess
The excess is the first amount of the claim that you must pay. The standard Kit & Home Contents excess is £50 (£100 for Computer Laptops). Premium discounts are available if you wish to increase the excess amount.

Legal Expenses
Optional Legal Expenses cover can be added to either Kit & Home Contents or Buildings Insurance.
To pursue or defend your legal rights through the courts is often difficult and costly. Our Legal Expenses cover arranged through First Assist Insurance Services Limited has been introduced to help in this situation. It is specifically designed for the needs of the armed forces at home and abroad and gives you and your family up to £40,000 Legal Expenses cover for disputes in relation to:

personal injury
personal goods
consumer protection
residential
employment
tax
jury service
This cover excludes some small claims and those without a reasonable chance of winning. It also excludes pre-existing disputes and any starting within 90 days unless in connection with a contract starting after cover was taken out.
